Energy Markets Manager West
Enersponse is a Distributed Energy Resource (DER) Management company, bringing Grid Operators and Utilities together with power consumers of all sizes. We bring grid service programs, such as Demand Response, Demand Management, Peak Shaving, Energy Hedging, Energy Efficiency, and Auto-DR to customers that require a more sophisticated approach through building automation.

Energy Markets
Our team understands and applies regulation and policy in energy markets throughout the U.S. related to demand response, energy management services, energy efficiency, Automated Demand Response (ADR) services, and other DER monetization solutions. We enroll commercial, industrial, and institutional customers that have multi-state and multi-market operations in utility and ISO programs. Most importantly, we optimize load management to decarbonize energy for our customers.
Responsibilities and Duties
This role will manage all aspects of utility and ISO engagement for DR and EE programs in multiple Western energy markets.
Market Management
Strategic
Collaborate with Account Managers
Identify and research new market participation opportunities
Provide direction for optimal customer participation in Western markets
Tactical
Regular check-ins with market partners
Manage utility and ISO processes, including enrollments
Extract and analyze energy data that support customer success
Liaise closely with Account Managers to ensure materials are up to date and customers are aware of program changes and opportunities
Process improvements
Identify opportunities for best practice adoption
Where applicable, develop new processes that will ensure maximum customer load utilization and revenue in various markets
Qualifications and Skills
High adaptability and understanding of change within the evolution of a startup
Understanding of at least one major Western energy market (e.g. ERCOT or CAISO), including programs, regulations, and policies
Experience with Demand Response and/or Energy Efficiency
Ability to problem-solve and strategize with cross-functional team members
Must possess exceptional organizational skills
Must be results-oriented, customer focused, and have great interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication (internally and externally)
Education and Experience
Bachelor degree preferred
5+ years’ experience working within the energy industry
Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Salesforce
