Energy Markets
Our team understands and applies regulation and policy in energy markets throughout the U.S. related to demand response, energy management services, energy efficiency, Automated Demand Response (ADR) services, and other DER monetization solutions. We enroll commercial, industrial, and institutional customers that have multi-state and multi-market operations in utility and ISO programs. Most importantly, we optimize load management to decarbonize energy for our customers.
Responsibilities and Duties
Enersponse’s Energy Markets team is seeking an energy professional with a background in energy contracts, regulation, and/or policy within the U.S. to help us expand our energy management services. The Energy Markets Compliance Manager will support the continued development and execution of Enersponse’s national energy strategy centered on decarbonizing the grid. This position will ensure compliance in all market participation and program contracts.
Analyze legislation and regulatory activity, as well as energy management program changes, for potential impacts on the company’s decarbonization goals and operational strategy
Build external relationships with other energy policy professionals in the industry and in government
Monitor compliance in direct market participation and with utility contracts
Work closely with the Energy Markets Managers to respond to policy and regulatory changes in existing markets and programs, or to create new energy management options where needed
Understand the national landscape of rebates for energy management services and guide the implementation of new rebate offerings
Qualifications and Skills
Experience working with broad stakeholder groups including electric utilities, clean energy providers, regulators or legislators
Understanding of energy market design, including DR programs and incentives for clean energy
Ability to analyze and translate legislative and regulatory language into operational impacts and strategy
High adaptability and understanding of change within the evolution of a startup
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree
2+ years experience working in energy markets with an energy intensive customer, a consulting firm, a market design firm, an electric utility, an energy management system, energy contracts, or similar
Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
