Position Description

Accountable To: Energy Markets Manager

Summary

Enersponse is a Distributed Energy Resource (DER) Management company, bringing Grid Operators and Utilities together with power consumers of all sizes.  We bring grid service programs, such as Demand Response, Demand Management, Peak Shaving, Energy Hedging, Energy Efficiency, and Auto-DR to customers that require a more sophisticated approach through building automation.

Our team understands and applies regulation and policy in energy markets throughout the U.S. related to demand response, energy management services, energy efficiency, Automated Demand Response (ADR) services, and other DER monetization solutions. We enroll commercial, industrial, and institutional customers that have multi-state and multi-market operations in utility and ISO programs. Most importantly, we optimize load management to decarbonize energy for our customers.

Compensation: Full-time salary. $65,000 - $85,000

Location: Remote

Responsibilities and Duties

This role will manage all aspects of utility, ISO, and 3rd Party reporting requirements.  This includes data analysis.  Data quality and integrity are considered shared responsibility with other Energy Markets team members.

  • Market Management

    • Strategic

      • Collaborate with utility, ISO, and 3rd Party contacts to understand report requirements, process, and timing.

      • Identify, modify, and use reporting tools as appropriate.

      • Provide insight to senior management based on analysis.

    • Tactical

      • Regular check-ins with utility, ISO, and 3rd Party contacts.

      • Manage report deadlines to give senior management a timely preview and understanding of the data, trends, and indicated next steps.

      • Recommend changes to process, operations, and business planning based on the analysis.

      • Liaise closely with Account Managers to ensure required data is accurate and up to date.  Alert management regarding gaps.

    •  Process Improvements

      • Identify opportunities for best practice adoption.

      • Where applicable, develop new processes that will ensure maximum customer load utilization and revenue in various markets.

Experience:

  • 2+ years working with Demand Response programs.

  • Knowledge of at least one major Western energy market (e.g., Southwest Power Pool, Western Imbalance Market, Pacific Northwest Council, ERCOT or CAISO), programs, regulation, and policies.

  • Organizational skills to create or implement analysis or process to meet report deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication communicating analytical findings and recommending an action plan.

  • Strong listening skills evident in creating required analysis.

  • Internal or external customer orientation, providing timely analysis in an acceptable format.

  • Adaptability to manage change working in a startup.

  • Resides in California.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; but Associate’s or 2-years advance schooling acceptable.

  • 2+ years’ experience working within the energy industry.

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
