Position Description

Position Title: Controller

Reports To: CFO

Overall Responsibility:

· Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting operational functions.

· Ownership of financial close and reporting cycles, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

· Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.

· Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.

· Manage cash (including forecasting) and payables.

· Prepare internal and external financial statements and information.

· Coordinates and serves as primary contact for financial audits.

· Coordinates and serves as primary contact for preparation of income tax returns.

· Ensures compliance with federal, state and local tax and business filing requirements.

· Participate in the budgeting process.

· Perform technical accounting research and implement appropriate accounting for new, unusual or complex transactions.

· Supervise and oversee development of all employees in the Finance department.

· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and webcasts, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

· Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.

· Partner with other departments to drive process and systematic improvements.

· Perform special projects, as required.


Education:

· B.S. in Accounting or related major.

· Active CPA.

Experience Must Have:

· Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a Controller

· Minimum 4 years of Experience with NetSuite

· Public accounting experience (Preferable Big 4)

· Start-up Experience

· Experience with consolidations

· Experience with technical memos

· Software or Energy experience

Preferred Experience and Education:

· Masters degree

· M & A experience

· Salesforce experience
